Food For Thought  - Classic Dinner Roll

Buttery, warm and delicious, everybody will go back for seconds with this classic dinner roll, 

this is homemade golden goodness at its best, perfect for any holiday meal. 

Ingredients  

4 1/2 Cups all-purpose flour  

1 Packet Fleishmann’s Rapid Rise yeast  

1/4 Cup granulated sugar  

1 Teaspoon salt  

1 1/2 Cup warm milk (about 110* F) 

5 Tablespoons unsalted butter  

1 Egg, room temperature  

2 Tablespoons unsalted butter, melted for brushing after baking  

Instructions  

1. Combine 3 cups of flour, yeast, sugar, salt, warm milk, butter, and egg in the bowl of a stand 

mixer. 

2. Using the dough hook mix on low while scraping the sides of the bowl to ensure all 

ingredients are combined. 

3. Turn mixer up to medium speed and mix for 2 minutes  

4. Add another 1/2 cup of flour and continue mixing with dough hook until blended then add 

remaining 1/2 cup of flour and mix for an additional 2 minutes until it forms a ball of dough and 

pulls away from the bowl. Dough should have bouncy and slightly sticky feel.  

5. Place the dough in a lightly greased bowl and cover with a towel. Let set at room temperature 

for 30 minutes to 1 hour. Dough should approximately double in size.   

6. Remove the towel and gently punch the dough. 

7. Grease a 9 x 13 baking dish.  

8. Pinch dough into 24 equal pieces and form rolls, set on cookie sheet and cover with a towel 

and allow rolls to rise an additional 30 minutes at room temperature.  

9. Preheat oven to 375* F  

10. Bake the rolls for 14-18 minutes or until golden brown. Remove and brush with melted 

butter, serve warm.
