FCTA awards $92,125 in grant funds for community events

The Fernley Convention and Tourism Authority awarded $92,125 in grand funding to 10 community organizations for events to promote tourism!!!!

The Fernley Convention and Tourism Authority was established in 2011 with the objective to distribute funds from collected Transient Lodging Taxes to special event organizers to better promote tourism in Fernley. These grants are intended to be seed money to foster the development of special events which will bring people to Fernley and stay in local hotels, shop at local businesses, eat at local restaurants and fuel up at local stations.  

The awards granted during the FCTA June 9 meeting were: 

  • Fernley 4th of July - $14,375 for the Fernley Fourth of July event
  • Sacred Visions Pow Wow - $8,125 for the Sacred Visions Pow Wow
  • Fernley art & Culture Event Squad - $8,500 for the ART Lite/haunted House/Christmas Village
  • Nevada Veterans Coalition - $9,250 for Wreaths Across America
  • Fernley Jr. Rodeo Association $9,625 for the Fernley Jr. Rodeo
  • Fernley Community Foundation - $4,625 for Fernstock 2025
  • The Beacon - $3,875 for the Fernley Splash the Stigma Tournament
  • Main street Fernley - $6,250 for the Drive to It-Not Through It campaign
  • Fernley Youth Softball Tournaments - $22,250 for multiple sports tournaments
  • Fernley Chamber of Commerce - $5,250 for Big Impressions
