On Sept. 5, 2017 at approximately 11:20 a.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers responded to U.S. 95A at Damon’s Curve (4 miles north of Silver Springs) for a serious injury rollover crash.

Preliminary investigation shows that a white 2002 Ford F150 was traveling northbound, when the driver lost control of the truck. The Ford F150 went off the roadway causing the truck to overturn. The driver, and only occupant of the vehicle, was not wearing a seat belt and succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the crash. He was pronounced deceased on scene. The name is being withheld pending next of kin notification. Alcohol may be a factor in this collision.

Trooper Doug Hildebrand of the Nevada Highway Patrol’s Multi-disciplinary Investigation and Reconstruction Team (M.I.R.T.) is investigating this crash. Anyone who may have witnessed this incident or who may have any information related to this crash is encouraged to contact Trooper Hildebrand (NHP) at 775-687-9617 [email protected] regarding case #170900417

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
