Back to School - East Valley Elementary School

Back to School - East Valley Elementary School
East Valley Elementary welcomes all our new and incoming students and is excited to begin the 2017-18 school year. The first day of school for all Pre-K - 4th grade students is Aug. 31, with a starting time of 8:30 a.m. Enrollment for any incoming new students, Pre-K students, or kindergarten students is daily from 8 a.m. to 3:30 p.m.

We will post class lists and have “Meet the Teacher Night” on Tuesday, Aug. 29 from 5-7 p.m. We invite you to come meet your child’s teacher and visit their classroom. We will hold two meeting for kindergarten and Pre-K parents to review expectations, procedures, etc. Kindergarten will report to the multipurpose room at 5 p.m. with Pre-K to follow at 5:30.

Full day Pre-K, Kinder-4th Grade Schedule:  Monday – Thursday 8:30 a.m.-3:15 p.m.; Friday 8:30 a.m.-2:15 p.m.

Please do not send your child to school earlier than 8:15 a.m., since we do not have staff available to watch them.  The playground and cafeteria open at 8:15. If you need childcare services before and after school, please contact the Boys & Girls Club at 331-5437 (KIDS).

Every student will receive a newsletter, emergency card, insurance information, and “free and reduced” hot lunch application the first day of school. Please note Lyon County School District does not carry any accident insurance to pay for injury to students while at school. The individual student insurance offer is relatively inexpensive.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
