The Fernley Intermediate School track team ended its season with a bang as distinct as a starting gun.

The FIS boys brought home he Sagebrush League championship, while the girls took second place in the 6th grade division.

“This team really impressed me with their work ethic and competitive spirit,” coach Dave Burns said. “Every day they came to practice and worked hard at getting better. This is a lot of times their first experience with a school affiliated team and they did not disappoint on the track and most importantly they didn’t disappoint how they represented FIS. I want to thank the team for a great season and look forward to watching them as the progress through their track career.”
