Fernley Chamber of Commerce scores Hole In One

The 5th Annual Fernley Chamber of Commerce Golf Tournament was a record breaker for the organization. One hundred and two golfers drove and putted their way around the Golf Club at Fernley having fun while raising money for the Chamber. One hundred percent of the money gained from the event supports the Chamber of Commerce, its 350-plus members and other activities that improve Fernley’s business community.

Attendees did not have to play golf to contribute. The sometimes not so silent, silent auction and raffle gave everyone an opportunity to have fun while helping to advance the Chamber’s goals.,

“This annual fund raiser pays for many of the Chamber’s activities and for the one paid staff position,” Master of Ceremonies Kelly Brye said.

Business owner, Harry “Dog” Wheeler of Harry Dog’s Pet Care and House Watch said, “I just play at golf, but it’s great meeting with so many people while supporting the Chamber of Commerce.”

Thirty-year Chamber member Bill Meyer donated two hand-made wood tables to the Chamber’s auction. He says he’s been working with wood for… “Fifty-five years - just a little while.”

Awards for the first place and last place golf teams were presented. Dena DeGolyer received the longest drive award and Albert Johns won the 50/50 raffle.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
