Minor travel delays will take place Wednesday, May 31 at the U.S. 50 and U.S. 95A intersection in Silver Springs as part of a Nevada Department of Transportation road improvement project.

Traffic flaggers will be directing vehicle traffic through the intersection May 31 between 8 a.m. and 8 p.m. as large haul trucks deliver road materials to construct a freeway truck climbing lane in the area. Drivers should expect up to 20-minute travel delays.

The road work is part of an NDOT project to repave approximately 11 miles of U.S. 95A between U.S. 50 in Silver Springs and Royal Oaks Drive south of Fernley. New passing lanes will also be installed and roadside guardrail replaced. Through late fall, additional periodic lane and roadway shoulder closures will periodically take place on U.S. 95A between Silver Springs and Fernley.

The approximately $7.6 million project by A&K Earth Movers, Inc. will improve the highway for the nearly 5,000 drivers which travel it daily.

Further project information is available at www.nevadadot.com or by dialing (775) 888-7000.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
