Baseball: Fallon blanks Fernley

Baseball: Fallon blanks Fernley
Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

Two Fallon pitchers combined to hold Fernley to four hits as the Greenwave beat the Vaqueros 10-0 Tuesday afternoon.

Fallon scored two runs in the first inning, and held that lead until posting eight runs in the bottom of the sixth to end the game by the 10-run rule.

With the loss, Fernley fell to 9-9 in the Northern 3A heading into this weekend’s three-game series in Elko. The Vaqueros are in sixth place heading into the final two weeks of the regular season, and can clinch a regional tournament berth with just one more win, or a Lowry loss, and with five teams bunched up within four losses, also have the chance to move up in the seedings.
