Fernley girls soccer earns regional tournament berth

The Fernley girls soccer team closed its regular season Saturday with a 3–0 loss at Fallon, finishing 0–8 in the Northern 3A East but securing the No. 8 seed for the regional tournament based on a strong showing in its crossover games against the West.

Fernley finished the season with a 4-13-1 overall record, including 3-2-1 in crossover games against the West Division to reach the playoffs for the first time since 2023.

The Vaqueros were scheduled to open the postseason Tuesday at 3:45 p.m. against Truckee. The winner advances to Friday’s regional semifinals at Lowry to play the winner of the quarterfinal between Fallon and North Tahoe.

It smells like sewage and it can be bad enough that people don’t want to be outside or open their windows. It would be helpful to get an investigative journalist help the Fernley residents get a clear answer from the City, NDEP, and any involved facilities. I was really disappointed that the smell was not disclosed by my realtor when I moved here. I enjoy Fernley and am seeing the improvements that are being made.
