The Fernley High School boys soccer team closed its season last Friday with a 3–0 loss at Fallon.
The Vaqueros had six shots on goal, including four by Harrison O’Donnell, and goalkeeper Travis Lyle made eight saves. Fallon led 1-0 at halftime, then pulled away with two goals in the second half.
The Vaqueros finished the season 0-10 in the Northern 3A East and 0-20 overall, but coach Angel Muniz said the team continued to compete despite a difficult season.
“The boys fought a good battle but fell short,” Muniz said. “Unfortunately, we had a rough season this year, but even with all these losses these boys stayed positive and kept pushing till the end. I’m proud of them and watching their progress throughout the season. I look forward to seeing this team continue to grow.”
