Fernley’s Hailey Hall tied for 17th at the 3A State Girls Golf Tournament at Ruby View Golf Course in Elko Oct. 13-14.
Hall was tied with Lowry’s Makinley Hislop for 11th place after shooting 97 in the first round and shot 110 in the second round to finish tied with Sofia Winer of Elko in 17th place.
“Hailey scrambled well and put together a good Day 1 score,” Fernley coach Brian O’Neill said. “She came out Day 2 playing really well, hit a roadblock and couldn’t really get a putt to drop the last 12 holes.”
O’Neill said Hall represented Fernley High School well.
“I’m very proud of her effort over the past four years,” he said. “She grew a lot from her freshman year at the state tournament in Mesquite and definitely deserved to represent the Northern 3A.”
Truckee’s Allison Mortimeyer shot a two-day total of 148 to win the individual championship. Boulder City won the team championship with a total score of 692.
