July 9, 1946 – Sept 16, 2026
Robert “Bob” Hazlett, 81, of El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away peacefully, surrounded by his loving and supportive wife, Dena Hazlett, on Sept. 16, 2026 at their residence after a long battle with cancer.
Bob was born on July 9, 1946 in Charleroi, PA, the youngest of four children of Leslie and Elizabeth Hazlett. He grew up in El Segundo, CA, and after graduating high school, began a career as an industrial plumber. On June 19, 1965, he married his first wife, Lynne Hazlett (nee Loveless). They raised two children, Jeffery Hazlett and Gregory Hazlett.
In 1988, Bob started a second career as a deputy sheriff, where he served in several departments in California and Nevada. He became a widower in 2012 when Lynne passed away in Fernley, NV. On November 8, 2017, Bob married Dena Hazlett, and the two spent an adventurous retirement traveling the West Coast in a motor home and being “work campers” at RV parks, living in Lake Havasu, AZ, and later settling down in El Dorado Springs, MO.
Beyond his work, Bob loved fishing, boating, SCUBA diving, and spending time with his grandson, Ethan. His wit and charm made him a favorite wherever he went. More than anything, Bob will be remembered for that humor, devotion to his family, unwavering work ethic, and his willingness to help anyone who needed him.
Bob is survived by his wife, Dena, son Jeff, son Greg and his wife Joanna, their son Ethan, sister-in-law Barbara and her husband Jules. He was preceded in death by his first wife, Lynne, his twin sister, Carol, and his older sisters Margie and Mary Jane.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to St. Croix Hospice in Boliver, MO (Go to: https://www.stcroixhospice.com/ and click on DONATE).
