Nevada Football will honor Northern Nevada firefighters and first responders during the Wolf Pack’s home opener Saturday, Sept. 5, against Western Kentucky at Mackay Stadium.
As a thank-you to those who helped protect communities during the recent wildfires across Northern Nevada, the Wolf Pack is offering complimentary tickets to firefighters and first responders.
Kickoff against the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers is scheduled for 7:30 p.m.
“Along with many in our community, members of our staff and student-athletes were impacted by the recent fires,” Nevada Football head coach Jeff Choate said. “Our firefighters and first responders demonstrated the utmost courage, heroism and dedication fighting these fires which threatened our community, and we want to express our heartfelt thanks.”
Choate said the university looks forward to recognizing the responding agencies and personnel during Saturday’s game.
