The Silver Stage High School volleyball team headed out this past weekend for one of its longest road trips on its Northern 2A schedule.
The Nighthawks’ first stop was on Friday night in Battle Mountain, with the Longhorns winning in a sweep 25-13, 25-16 and 25-12.
Sophomore Priscilla Hesselguesser finished off six of Silver Stage’s 13 kills, with Aliyah Diaz, Samantha Sell and Brooke Lehman each recording two kills apiece.
Lauren Broughton and Hesselguesser had one block apiece, with Joselyn Fayaud earning a team-high 13 digs. Robin Smith added seven digs and Morgyn Phoenix, Lehman and Broughton with four digs each. Smith contributed four assists as well.
Silver Stage made its way to the Nevada/Utah border on Saturday to take on West Wendover. The Wolverines swept the match 25-14, 25-22, 25-16.
The Nighthawks’ Annabelle Glass picked up two kills, with one each from Lehman and Hesselguesser. Broughton, Hesselguesser and Diaz were busy at the net with four, three and two blocks, respectfully, and Diaz added two aces.
Fayaud had a team-high 12 digs, Lehman eight and Smith and Hesselguesser six digs apiece.
Silver Stage hosted Sierra Lutheran on Wednesday and results were not available at press time. The Nighthawks make the short trip to Yerington Friday for a 5 p.m. start and host Pershing County on Saturday at 11 a.m.
