Fernley residents are invited to come together for an evening of family fun, community connection, and public safety during National Night Out on Tuesday, Aug. 4, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Out of Town Park Gazebo.
Hosted by the City of Fernley and the Lyon County Sheriff's Office, the free annual event is part of a nationwide initiative that encourages positive relationships between law enforcement and the communities they serve.
Families can enjoy free hot dogs, interactive activities, and the opportunity to meet local first responders while exploring a variety of public safety demonstrations and displays. Planned attractions include a SWAT vehicle, K-9 demonstrations, Drone Team presentations, community vendors, and resource booths highlighting local organizations and services. According to the event flyer, attendees can also check out fire trucks, squad cars, and helicopters, and enjoy music from Biggest Little Radio.
Whether you're new to Fernley or have called the community home for years, National Night Out offers a chance to meet neighbors, learn about local resources, and celebrate the partnerships that help keep the community safe.
Admission is free, and everyone is welcome to attend.
