North Lyon Fire District recruiting firefighters

The North Lyon County Fire Protection District is seeking applicants for several full-time firefighter positions as the department continues to recruit the next generation of first responders.

The district is accepting applications on a continuous basis for entry-level and lateral candidates in the following classifications:

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT)

• Firefighter/Advanced EMT

• Firefighter/Paramedic

According to the district, annual salaries begin at approximately $60,541 for EMTs, with Firefighter/Advanced EMT positions ranging from $71,131 to $87,330 and Firefighter/Paramedic positions ranging from $78,724 to $96,652, depending on qualifications and experience.

Applicants must hold a current National Registry of Emergency Medical Technicians (NREMT) certification or a Nevada EMS license.

Testing is scheduled for Aug. 1-2 and Oct. 3-4, with additional testing dates to be announced. The district also offers flexible testing dates upon request.

Fire district officials encourage individuals interested in public service and emergency response to apply.
