Aaron Wilson has been appointed to the North Lyon County Fire Protection District Board of Directors, filling a vacant seat until voters decide who will hold the position in the November election.
Wilson was sworn in last week during the regular board meeting and said he plans to continue campaigning for the seat.
“This appointment does not replace the election, and I will continue campaigning to earn your vote this November,” Wilson said in a statement. “I’m grateful for the opportunity to begin serving our community immediately while the voters ultimately decide who will hold the seat moving forward.”
Wilson said he is approaching the position with humility and a commitment to listen, learn and make informed decisions on behalf of firefighters, taxpayers and the community.
“I don’t take this opportunity lightly, and I look forward to getting to work,” he said.
The district’s board also includes Chairman Paul Murphy, Vice Chairman Debbie Skinner, Treasurer/Secretary Alyssa Roemer and Director Christine Sullivan.
