Registration is now required before students may ride a school bus in the Lyon County School District.
Parents and guardians should first confirm that their student is eligible for district transportation under school district policy. Families must then complete a separate transportation application for each student.
The district noted that updated routing technology has changed some walk zones to better reflect current policies. As a result, some students who previously qualified for bus service may no longer be eligible. Submitting an application does not automatically guarantee transportation.
Once a student is approved and assigned to a route, families will be able to view route and schedule information through the LCSD My Ride K-12 app. Bus assignments and schedules are expected to be available in the app beginning Aug. 10.
The app also provides real-time bus notifications, including estimated arrival times, boarding notices and delay alerts. Registration information and app links are available through the Lyon County School District.
