The Nevada Highway Patrol and Lyon County Sheriff's Office are looking for information on the fatal collision that killed a pedestrian Monday evening on U.S. 50A.
According to the Nevada Highway Patrol, on March 13, at approximately 6:14 p.m., Nevada Highway Patrol Troopers were called to US50A/16LY (near Pioneer Crossing) for a collision between a vehicle and a pedestrian.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a white 2013 Chrysler Town and Country Minivan was traveling westbound when the vehicle struck a juvenile pedestrian in the roadway.
The juvenile pedestrian was transported to a Reno hospital where he succumbed to the injuries he sustained from the collision. The cause and details of the collision are still under investigation. The Nevada Highway Patrol and Lyon County Sheriff’s Office are working together on this investigation. It is unknown if alcohol or drugs are involved in this incident.

Comment text: Maybe there is more to this story than what is reported, but it seems to me that the businesses that are causing this problem ought to be paying for this, or at least a major portion of it. Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
