The Nevada Department of Wildlife is inviting anglers to take part in Free Fishing Day on Saturday, June 13, when anyone may fish Nevada’s public waters without a license.
Free Fishing Day is held each year to give residents and visitors a chance to try fishing, introduce children to the outdoors or spend time on the water with family and friends.
The date also coincides with Nevada State Parks Adventure Day, meaning admission to all state parks will be free on June 13.
All other fishing regulations, including seasons and limits, remain in effect.
NDOW and community partners will host several family-friendly events across the state, offering free gear, educational activities and prizes.
Northern Nevada events include:

• Free rods, tackle and bait for the first 1,200 children, provided by Sparks Rotary
• Free hot dog lunch
Idlewild Park, Reno
8 a.m.–noon
• Free rods, tackle and bait for the first 150 children
• Registration begins at 7:30 a.m.
