Free chronic disease management workshop offered in Silver Springs

The University of Nevada, Reno Sanford Center for Aging is offering a free Chronic Disease Self-Management Program this spring at the Silver Springs Senior Center.

Classes will be held on Wednesdays, May 13 through June 24, from 1:30-4 p.m. at the Silver Springs Senior Center, located at 2945 Ft. Churchill Road in Silver Springs.

This workshop is designed to help people living with ongoing health conditions build practical skills and confidence to better manage their health and daily wellness. Topics include communication with healthcare providers, fall prevention, healthy eating, exercise, problem-solving, and managing difficult emotions.

Transportation is also available for those who need help getting to class.
