The Nevada Highway Patrol is investigating a fatal crash that resulted in the death of a Fernley woman on April 17.
According to its preliminary investigation, the Highway Patrol said a 2013 Ford F-150 was traveling northbound on U.S. 95A north Sierra Way near Wabuska, when it crossed the dashed centerline into the southbound lane. The front left of the Ford struck the front left of a southbound 2007 Chevrolet Suburban.
The Suburban overturned and came to rest on the right dirt shoulder of the southbound lane. The Ford came to rest across the northbound travel lane.
The driver of the Suburban, Candus Hernandez, 34, of Fernley, was pronounced dead at the scene. A passenger in the vehicle was transported to an area hospital with serious injuries.
The Nevada Highway Patrol Major Incident Reconstruction Team is handling the investigation.
