One person and pet displaced after apartment fire

A kitchen fire displaced one resident and a pet early Monday morning after North Lyon Fire units responded to a structure fire in the 600 block of Silver Lace Boulevard.

Crews were dispatched at about 5:01 a.m. and arrived to find smoke coming from an apartment, the fire department said. Before firefighters arrived, Lyon County Sheriff’s deputies helped the occupant out of the apartment.

The fire started in the kitchen and extended into the attic space, causing moderate damage. No responders were injured. The resident and one pet were displaced.
