The Fernley Pop Warner Football/Cheer League honored its Glow Squad for competing in the Pop Warner Cheer and Dance Nationals last December in Charlotte, NC and Sparkle Squad for winning its division at the Jamz Cheer and Dance Youth Nationals on Jan. 23.

The teams were presented with championship rings at the league’s Board of Directors meeting on Feb. 19 at the Fernley Senior Center.

The Fernley Glow Squad, led by coach Briana Biagi, was the first Fernley team to go to Pop Warner Nationals and placed 10th in its division. Other Fernley teams had qualified for that competition in the past, but this was the first time the league was able to send its team.

The Fernley Sparkle Squad coached by Amber Wagner won 1st place in its division at the Jamz Cheer and Dance Youth Nationals on Jan. 23.

Fernley also had several other squads perform and place.

The season for the teams begins in August and runs through the end of January or early February.
