Lyon County Sheriff’s Office investigating shooting in Fernley

One person was arrested and another was taken to the hospital by Care Flight after a shooting Wednesday evening. 

The Lyon County Sheriff’s office received multiple 911 calls starting at 6:48 pm about a shooting in the parking lot of the Fernley Village Marketplace, in front of Steve’s Homemade Ice Cream. 

Deputies found one person with multiple gunshot wounds, and they identified and arrested a suspect. 

Personnel from the North Lyon Fire Protection District arrived and immediately began providing medical care to the victim. The victim was subsequently transported to Renown Regional Medical Center by CareFlight. 

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division has responded and will be conducting the investigation. The Sheriff’s Office said there is no current threat to the public.
