County announces reduced fees for property tax payments

The Lyon County Clerk/Treasurer’s Office announced last week that the county has negotiated improved debit card processing fees for residents making real and personal property tax payments.

The new fees for electronic debit card payments (online or by phone) are being reduced from 2.5% to 1% of the transaction amount.

Electronic check (eCheck) payments will be a flat fee of $3.00 per transaction.

Credit card and all other card transactions will continue to be processed at 2.5% of the transaction amount.
