A GoFundMe account has been set up to help the family of Brent Santos, a City of Fernley

building inspector and Fernley High School assistant football coach who died suddenly and

unexpectedly on Oct. 5.

Santos was an assistant coach at Spanish Springs for several years before taking a job with the

City of Fernley earlier this year and joining the FHS football staff.

“We’re heartbroken as a football program for that,” Fernley head coach Anfernee Sloan said.

“My thoughts and prayers go out to that family and they always have a place in our football

program.”

City of Fernley Building Official Charity Birkel organized the GoFundMe page, which had

raised $9,992 as of Monday night.

“The city is doing its best to help support Tracy, Brent's wife, and his kids through this incredibly

difficult time,” Birkel said.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
