Boys soccer team beats Fallon for first win of season

The Fernley High School boys soccer team earned its first win of the season with a 2-1 comeback victory over Fallon last Saturday. Trailing 1-0 at halftime, Todd Wickenden and Jesus Infante scored in the second half to secure the win. Fernley is now fourth in Northern 3A East with a 1-3-1 league record and 1-9-3 overall. The Vaqueros play at West Wendover Friday at 3:45 p.m. and at Elko Saturday at 11:45 a.m. The girls soccer team fell 8-0 to Fallon last week, dropping to 0-4 in league play. They will host Lowry at noon Saturday.
Boys soccer team beats Fallon for first win of season

The Fernley High school boys soccer team got its first win of the season by beating Fallon 2-1 

last Saturday. 

The Vaqueros trailed 1-0 at halftime, but Todd Wickenden and Jesus Infante each scored goals in 

the second half to lead Fernley to the win. 

The Vaqueros are now in fourth place in the Northern 3A East with a 1-3-1 record and 1-9-3 

overall. They are scheduled to play at 3:45 p.m. Friday at West Wendover, which is in third place 

with a 2-2-1 record, and at 11:45 a.m. Saturday at Elko, which leads the league at 5-0. 

Girls soccer 

The girls team lost its match last week with Fallon, 8-0. Fallon scored four goals in each half as 

Fernley fell to 0-4 in league play and Fallon improved to 2-0-2. 

This week the Vaqueros are scheduled to host Lowry at noon Saturday.
