State Police seeking witnesses to robbery on I-80 near Patrick

By Robert Perea

The Nevada State Police Investigation Division is seeking witnesses or anyone with information regarding a robbery on Sept. 26 near the Patrick off-ramp on Interstate 80.

On Friday, Sept. 26, at approximately 11:45 a.m., the Nevada State Police Investigation Division responded to a report of a robbery that occurred on eastbound I-80 at the scenic overlook area just prior to the Patrick off-ramp, between Reno and USA Parkway.

The State Police said the driver of a white Ford Explorer was tending to a flat tire when another man, described as possibly White or Hispanic, approached and offered assistance. The driver of the Ford declined, and moments later was rendered unconscious. Upon regaining consciousness, the victim discovered that his belongings had been taken. He was able to call for assistance. Detectives responded to the scene, and the victim was transported to a regional hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

The Nevada State Police Investigation Division asks that anyone who may have witnessed this incident, was in the area of the I-80 eastbound overlook west of the Patrick off-ramp between 10:30 a.m. and 12:30 p.m., or who may have knowledge about the suspect, contact Detective Harrell at (775) 684-7453 or (775) 684-7428, reference case #25I000567.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill?
