The Nevada Highway Patrol is currently investigating a fatal crash at U.S. 50 and Scenic Avenue in Stagecoach. U.S. 50 eastbound traffic is currently being detoured at Scenic Avenue. This detour is expected to be in effect for the next two hours.
The preliminary investigation indicates that a dirt bike rider was attempting to enter U.S. 50 from Scenic Avenue. The dirt bike rider failed to yield to a van traveling eastbound on U.S. 50 approaching Scenic Avenue. The van crashed into the dirt bike. The rider of the dirt bike, a juvenile male, was pronounced dead on scene by medical personnel.
