Three arrested after road rage incident leads to stabbing

Three people were arrested on assault and battery charges after a road rage incident where one person was stabbed and a vehicle crashed into the handicapped ramp at the Community Response and Resource Center on Aug. 25.

The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office said deputies responded to a reported traffic accident at 4:50 p.m. on Aug. 25 at the CRRC. They arrived to find an injured man, later identified as Ricky Fields, who was being treated by North Lyon County Fire Department personnel.

Deputies said their investigation determined that incident began as a road rage dispute and escalated when bystanders became involved. During the altercation, multiple individuals brandished weapons, a vehicle was damaged, and Fields sustained injuries that required hospitalization. 

As a result of the investigation, deputies arrested Fields on a charge of assault with a deadly weapon, robbery and reckless driving. His bail was set at $81,890.00. They also arrested Joseph Cantrell and Christopher Cantrell on charges of battery with a deadly weapon and obstructing/false statements. Bail for each of them was set at $41,140.00
