Nebraska man identified as person killed in Main St. crash Aug. 11

The Nevada Highway Patrol has identified the person killed in a fatal crash on Main St. on Aug. 11 as a 75-year old man from Nebraska.

NHP said the victim was Steven Voris, 75, of Papillion, Neb. Based on witness statements and vehicle damage that is inconsistent with a fatal collision, NHP said the cause of death is not believed to be from the crash. Official cause of death is pending Medical Examiner’s Office review. Foul play is not suspected.

The Highway Patrol said Voris was driving a gray 2017 Honda CR-V eastbound n Main St. west of Lois Lane. The Honda entered the right shoulder of the road, and the front of the Honda struck a road sign, continued eastbound in the right shoulder across Lois Lane and through the front yard of a business where the Honda struck another sign. The Honda continued eastbound in the right shoulder across 6th Street where it hit a house. The Honda came to a stop with the front of the Honda still in contact with the house.

A female passenger in the car suffered minor injuries.
