The Lyon County Sheriff's Office said the body of a teen who drowned at Lahontan Reservoir was found at approximately 3:30 p.m. Sunday.
Deputies were called to the lake at 4:56 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person in the lake who was calling for help and disappeared under the water. Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived in the area, confirmed the report was legitimate, and immediately began a search.
Deputies and Search and Rescue personnel were unable to locate the person after searching into the night. Deputies remained on scene throughout the night Saturday and the day on Sunday before finding the body in the channel area near Fisherman’s Point. The Washoe County Sheriff's Office, Churchill County Sheriff's Office and Nevada Division of State Parks assisted in the search.
The Sheriff’s Office said out of respect for the privacy of the family, no other details about the teen will be released.
Investigators found no indication of foul play, and the death has preliminarily been determined to be accidental.

Sheriff’s office searching for person missing in Lahontan Reservoir
The Lyon County Sheriff’s Office is searching for a person who disappeared under the water at Lahontan Reservoir on Saturday evening.
Deputies were called to the lake at 4:56 p.m. Saturday for a report of a person in the lake who was calling for help and disappeared under the water. Sheriff’s Office personnel arrived in the area, confirmed the report was legitimate and immediately began a search, utilizing all available resources.
Deputies and Search and Rescue personnel were unable to locate the person after searching into the night. Deputies remained on scene throughout the night, and the search is still on-going.
The Sheriff’s Offide is asking the public to avoid the area of “the Channel” or “Fisherman’s Point” while the search is conducted.
