The Lyon County School District has announced that it will provide free breakfast and lunch to all students during the 2025-26 school year.
Regardless of household income, every student enrolled in Lyon County schools will have access to free nutritious meals every school day.
The district said this ongoing support is made possible through the Lyon County School District’s Board of Trustees approval of the district’s participation in the Community Eligibility Provision (CEP). That federal initiative allows schools in eligible communities to serve meals to all students at no cost, with no application required from families.
In collaboration with the district's food service management company, Chartwells, the district participates in the National School Lunch Program (NSLP) to deliver meals that meet or exceed USDA nutrition standards.
Families can easily access daily and monthly menus through Nutrislice, a user-friendly online platform that provides nutritional content and allergen information. Menus are available at https://lyoncsd.nutrislice.com/menu from any desktop or mobile device.
