The Storey County Commission is pursuing an agreement and a location to station a helicopter that would be used for regional wildland firefighting operations and medical evacuation.
The County Commission, acting in its role as the Storey County Board of Fire Commissioners, approved a request for authorization to pursue an agreement with Global Medical Response (REACH Air Medical Services), and for county staff to identify a secure location to house the aircraft.
The program would involve REACH basing a helicopter in Storey County at a secure location provided by the Storey County Fire District. Storey County Fire Chief Jeremy Loncar told the Commission in a report that this partnership would enhance Storey County’s emergency response capabilities.
