The Central Nevada Health District Board of Health is dedicated to building and maintaining local administration to preserve, promote, and protect the health, safety, and well-being of the people in its community. Pursuant to NRS 439.390, the Board of Health must include a physician licensed to practice medicine in the State of Nevada.

 

The Central Nevada Health District is currently seeking Letters of Interest from qualified physicians licensed to practice medicine in Nevada who are interest in serving a two-year term on the Central Nevada Board of Health. Interested parties just reside in one of the five CNHD communities which includes Eureka County, Pershing County, Mineral County, Churchill County and the City of Fallon.

 

Eligible candidates who submit a Letter of Interest will be presented to the Board of Health for selection and appoint during the regularly scheduled Board of Health meeting on Aug. 14, 2024 at 1:30 p.m.

 

Letters of Interest must be submitted no later than close-of-business Aug. 6, 2025 to the following:

During the COVID-19 pandemic, the communities of Churchill, Eureka, Mineral and Pershing Counties, as well as the City of Fallon, agreed to form the Central Nevada Health District to serve the small, dispersed, and diverse populations in rural communities by leveraging existing resources to reduce gaps and expand services. The establishment of the Central Nevada Health District was approved by the State of Nevada Board of Health on December 2, 2022, in accordance with NRS 439.370. It is the third Health District approved in the State of Nevada, the first to include multiple communities, and the first to serve rural communities.
