Cowboy Fast Draw Fastest Gun Alive World Championship to be held in Fallon July 16-20

The Cowboy Fast Draw Association will be holding its Fastest Gun Alive: World Championship of Cowboy Fast Draw July 16-20 at the Rafter 3C Arena in Fallon. Now in its 23rd year in Fallon, this thrilling indoor event invites more than 250 of the world’s fastest gunslingers to compete for the coveted title of “Fastest Gun Alive.”

Honoring the romance and legend of the Old West, the competition will showcase men, women, juniors, and youth as they go head-to-head in one of the most exciting western sports in the country. Competitors, some as young as 8 years old, have been rigorously trained in safety protocols and are sure to impress with their speed, precision, and sportsmanship.

Main competitions will take place Friday, July 18 and Saturday, July 19 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. The final showdown featuring the top 7 gunslingers will happen Sunday, July 20, from 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. Admission and parking are free all weekend long.

Spectators even have the chance to take part in the action with a free Cowboy Fast Draw experience on Saturday, July 19, from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m., allowing folks of all ages to try their hand at the sport in a safe and controlled environment.

“This event is a true celebration of our heritage and the community that defines Fallon,” said Fallon Mayor Ken Tedford. “Every year, it’s an honor to welcome the Cowboy Fast Draw Association and all the talented participants from across the country. We invite everyone to come out and experience the excitement, tradition, and hospitality that make this championship so special.”

In addition to the high-stakes competition, guests can enjoy a variety of Western-themed food vendors, including BBQ, hot dogs, hamburgers, and more, as well as an indoor craft fair featuring holster makers, Western wear, artisan gifts, and local crafters.
