Fernley Rodeo Club Shines at Junior High Nationals

Kinley Behrendt placed 16th in barrel racing to lead the contingent of four members of the Fernley Rodeo Club at the National Junior High Finals Rodeo held June 22-28 in Des Moines, IA.

Behrendt posted a score of 46.007 to place 16th out of 190 competitors. Fernley’s Elie Machado scored 31.446 to place 54th in the same event.

In ribbon roping, Jordyn Process and her partner Clayton Hiibel of Fallon posted an average of 36.21 to place 41st out of 116 teams.

Process also placed 172nd out of 185 competitors in pole bending with a score of 25.185

Ryliegh Coe placed 54th out of 174 qualifiers in girls goat tying with a score of 26.35.

Fernley will also have five representatives, Kylie Ann Behrendt, Ian Leavitt, Kade McKnight, Olivia Process and Kashlin Hill, in the National High School Finals Rodeo, which begins Sunday in Rock Springs, WY.
