North Lyon County firefighters will be collecting money on the 4th of July to help the sister of one of their own battling breast cancer,

Firefighter Josh Chandler, a proud member of North Lyon Fire and a dedicated resident of Fernley, is facing one of the toughest battles—not on the fire line, but alongside his sister, Brandy. Since 2021, Brandy has been courageously fighting breast cancer.

Through every round of chemotherapy, multiple surgeries, and ongoing treatments, her strength and resilience have never wavered. But as many know, the emotional and financial toll of cancer is overwhelming. Now, their family needs us—their extended community.

Brandy’s journey has stretched her family’s resources thin. Every donation, no matter the size, goes directly toward medical expenses, travel for treatments, and giving this family some relief in the middle of the storm.

Firefighter Chandler shows up for our community every single day. Let’s show up for his.  You can donate on the 4th of July by stuffing the boot in Fernley or donate at https://gofund.me/24c0e322 Please share to help spread the word. #SupportBrandy #FernleyStrong #NorthLyonFire #FireFamily #BreastCancerAwareness #CommunityStrong #LocalHeroes Professional Fire Fighters of Nevada

I grew up in Fernley and would be interested to see how many answers I know. The coin is beautiful. Congrats on 25 years as a city! Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
