County to dedicate Fernley Senior Center to Leroy Goodman

Staff Report

Lyon County will hold a public ceremony Friday to dedicate the Fernley Senior Center in memory of Delbert “LeRoy” Goodman, a distinguished citizen of Fernley and Lyon County.

The ceremony will be held this Friday, June 20 at 9 a.m. at the Fernley Senior Center located at 105 Lois Ln.

On Feb. 20, the Lyon County Board of County Commissioners unanimously approved a proclamation to dedicate the Fernley Senior Center in memory of Goodman. Goodman dedicated over 40 years of service to his community, including serving as a Lyon County Commissioner between 1997-2009 and as the Mayor of Fernley from 2009-2014.
