McKnight leads 11 National Finals and Silver State qualifiers for Fernley Rodeo Club

Cade McKnight won the All-Around Cowboy title for the second consecutive year and leads a contingent of 11 rodeo athletes from Fernley Heading to National Finals or the Silver State Invitational rodeos. 

Kylie Ann Behrendt, Ian Leavitt, Kade McKnight, Olivia Process and Kashlin Hill have each qualified for the National High School Finals Rodeo July 13-19 in Rock Springs, Wyo. 

Kinley Behrendt, Ryleigh Coe, Jordan Process each qualified for the National Junior High Finals Rodeo June 22-28 in Des Moines, Iowa, while, Jenna Covers Up, Carmen Luque and Ellie Machado have qualified for the Silver State Invitational June 30-July 7 in Winnemucca. 

McKnight totaled 1,069 points in the All-Around standings, while Jace Jepson of Pahrump was second with 964 points. In individual events, McKnight finished first in boys cutting, second in team roping, fourth in steer wrestling, and seventh in tie-down roping. 

Leavitt was the only competitor in bareback riding. 

Process finished third in the girls all-around competition, with 920.75 points, ranking behind Matti DeLong of Humboldt County, who had 1,121.50, and Quil Filippini of Eureka, who scored 1,112,75. In individual events, she placed first in both girls cutting and goat tying, sixth in pole bending, sixth in reined cow horse, 10th in breakaway roping and 53rd in team roping. 

Hill finished the season sixth in girls cutting, ninth in reined cow horse, 13th in goat tying, 14th in pole bending, 16th in barrel racing, 24th in breakaway roping and 65th in team roping. 

Behrendt was second in goat tying, 27th in breakaway roping and 48th in team roping. 

Covers Up placed 21st in goat tying, 28th in breakaway roping, 31st in team roping and 42nd in pole bending. 

Luque placed 20th in goat tying, 24th in pole bending and 37th in barrel racing. 

In the Junior High standings, Jordyn Process finished fifth in the girls All-Around standings, second in pole bending, fourth in barrel racing, eighth in ribbon roping and 12th in breakaway roping. 

Kinley Behrendt was eighth in the All-Around standings and came in third in barrel racing, third in goat tying, 10th in pole bending, 15th in ribbon roping and 31st in team roping. 

Ryliegh Coe was 12th All-Around, second in goat tying and seventh in breakaway roping, while Machado finished 15th All-Around, sixth in barrel racing, 18th in pole bending  and 19th in goat tying.
