City reminds residents that door-to-door solicitors must be licensed

City reminds residents that door-to-door solicitors must be licensed

The City Clerk's Office is reminding Fernley residents that the city requires all potential solicitors to be background checked and licensed before operating in the city.

Anyone who is selling, offering for sale or soliciting on the streets, sidewalks or alleys of the city, or who goes door-to-door by foot or by other means of transportation offering services or products for sale is required to have a solicitor’s license. The license must be obtained prior to the solicitor operating in the City of Fernley.

A solicitor’s license issued by the City of Fernley will have the individual’s information, company information, individual’s picture and dates that the license is valid. A regular business license issued to a company does not authorize door to door soliciting or peddling.

Currently only four companies are licensed for door-to-door soliciting:

  • Damselfly Improvement dba DaBella
  • Pure Water Systems of Nevada
  • Ray’s Elite Surf N Turf Home Delivery
  • CattleBros Steak & Seafood

If you would like to check if an individual is currently licensed as a solicitor or for additional information regarding a Solicitors License, please contact the City Clerk’s Office at 775-784-9830 or via email [email protected].
