Hendrix retains Commission seat with primary win

Lyon County Commissioner Tammy Hendrix of Silver Springs will hold on to her District 3 seat after defeating challenger Phil Wooley of Dayton in Tuesday’s Republican primary election.

Hendrix has received 3,653 votes as of the latest numbers released by the Lyon County Clerk’s office Wednesday night, to 1,705 for Wooley.

Because no Democrat filed to run for that office, Hendrix will now be unopposed in the November general election and will retain her seat if she receives one vote.
