William Robert Hissam

William Robert Hissam

William Robert Hissam, age 79, passed peacefully at home on Friday, April 19 in Fernley, Nevada. Bill was born on July 5, 1944, in Indianapolis, Indiana to Richard E. and Helen Rosner Hissam. Bill is survived by his wife of 40 years, Chrystal, daughter Carly Fripp, son Nick and brothers Dick and Jim. 

After high school Bill attended Purdue University and joined the U.S. Air Force, serving as a Russian linguist based in England during the mid-sixties.  After the military, Bill lived in St. Petersburg, Florida. 

Bill moved to Reno in the1970’s and worked in the casino industry, rising to Manager of Cactus Jack’s Casino for many years before retiring in Hemet, CA.  He also lived in Lake Tahoe. His hobbies were golf, gardening, and doting on his two grandsons.
