School district sends letter thanking county, cities
From the Lyon County School District

Dear County Commissioners, County Leadership Team and City Officials,

We wanted to send you all a special thank you from your friends at the Lyon County School District. Words can't describe our gratitude to you, all of the first responders and staff who worked tirelessly to keep our communities safe and functioning!

We were so impressed with the communication you provided throughout this weather event as well as the response and urgency shown to our citizens. Of course, we are especially grateful for your diligence in keeping all of our students, staff and families safe.

If you will please pass along our gratitude to the entire team of your respective organization, we would greatly appreciate it. We will certainly all pray that our weather events will be more moderate in the future, but it is very comforting to know that we are all in great hands should we face similar circumstances. Thank you!

It smells like sewage and it can be bad enough that people don’t want to be outside or open their windows. It would be helpful to get an investigative journalist help the Fernley residents get a clear answer from the City, NDEP, and any involved facilities. I was really disappointed that the smell was not disclosed by my realtor when I moved here. I enjoy Fernley and am seeing the improvements that are being made.
