American Battery finalizes purchase of TRIC facility

Robert Perea, The Fernley Reporter

American Battery Technology Company has finalized the purchase of its commercial-scale recycling facility in the Tahoe Reno Industrial Center.

ABTC entered into agreements to buy the facility and the installed industrial utility equipment in March.

“The acquisition of this move-in ready industrial recycling facility has greatly accelerated our progress towards the first implementation of our integrated commercial-scale, lithium-ion battery recycling operations,” ABTC CEO Ryan Melsert said. “Within this facility we will have operations to receive a wide-range of end-of-life and scrap battery materials and process these materials all the way to battery grade metal products that we will sell to our domestic partners in order to create one of the first closed loop battery material supply chains within North America.”

ABTC entered into a short-term lease to begin preparing the 137,000 square foot facility in April. The facility was previously used for the recycling of lead-acid batteries, so it was already equipped with much of the infrastructure and equipment necessary for ABTC’s lithium-ion recycling processes.

Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.Comment publication date: 5/7/26, 10:26 AMComment source: Storey County, Tesla partner to extend I-80 Patrick on-rampComment author: Alan ReederComment text: Great guy, laughed easily, had fun with his students, enjoyed our time together at FHS!Comment publication date: 4/23/26, 10:23 PMComment source: Howard David JacksonComment author: Jack & Nancy CookComment text: Wonderful man.
