Vaquero wrestlers finish 6<sup>th</sup> at Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational

The Fernley High School wrestling team finished sixth overall and second among Northern 3A teams at the Spring Creek Kiwanis Invitational held this Friday and Saturday.

The Vaqueros collected a total of 146 team points. Buhl, Idaho won the meet with a total of 248.5 points. Elko was the top Nevada team in third place with 199 points.

The Vaqueros finished with six placers, led by Nathan Pritchard, who won first place at 113-pounds, beating Marco Romero of Elko by a 7-6 decision in the championship round.

AT 175 pounds, Brandon McCullar finished second, losing the championship round to Braelen Toles of Damonte Ranch.

Other placers were Brady Garrett; fifth place at 138 pounds, and sixth place finishers Camron McMackin at 106, Riley McCullar at 132 and Nick Glass at 190.

Last Tuesday, the Vaqueros won the Lyon County Duals, beating Dayton 72-12 and Yerington 60-18.
