A debate between Republican candidates for U.S. Senate -- Adam Laxalt and Sam Brown -- will be held in Reno May 9 and will be recorded for the Nevada Newsmakers TV program.

The debate will take place at the Nevada Trucking Association offices in South Reno at 8 a.m. and will be uploaded to the Nevada Newsmakers web site and all other platforms that carry the show as soon as possible.

Nevada Newsmakers host Sam Shad and Las Vegas Review Journal columnist Victor Joecks will moderate.

The debate will be limited to an hour. Although the debate will be quickly uploaded on the web and social media, It can also be seen over a two-day period, beginning May 10, on regular telecasts of Nevada Newsmakers in Reno, at noon on the CW, Spectrum Channel 695 Tuesday and Wednesday. In Las Vegas, the debate can be seen on a delayed basis on MyLV TV, Saturday morning at 5:30 a.m. and 6 a.m. on Cox Channel 12.
