The Fernley Reporter
The Fernley High School PTSA has set up a Gift Card Tree in the breezeway at Fernley High School.
It has been determined that there is a great need for assistance for the kids, and they would like to help assist students in need at FHS for Christmas.
The tree is the small white one to the left in the entry way. They are looking for donations of gift cards to clothing stores, Wal-Mart, restaurants including fast food, gift cards with just money on them, etc. What they receive from the Angel Tree may be the only gift they receive this Christmas.
The only meals some children eat are the ones they eat at school, and the PTSA would like to help keep them full during their Winter break.
If you wish to support the Gift Card tree at FHS you can go to the school and give Terry (in the front office) your donation. You may also call FHS PTSA President Linda Barba at (775) 742-0653 and she will come and get it.
You are may also donate cash. The PTSA has a tax ID number so that you can use it for your taxes.
The deadline to donate is Dec 21.

Comment text: Maybe there is more to this story than what is reported, but it seems to me that the businesses that are causing this problem ought to be paying for this, or at least a major portion of it. Why does the County have to pay the whole bill? Just my opinion.
