Fernley is opening up the Christmas season on Saturday, Dec. 4 with a bunch of family fun activities from morning to evening. The events begin with a Santa Run presented by the Fernley Soroptimist Group at 8 a.m. starting and ending at the Fire Station on Main Street.

The run is followed by Rotary’s Grinch Breakfast Feast from 9 a.m.–12 p.m. at the Fire Station on Main Street. The cost is only $5/person, which gets you a Grinch Breakfast, a raffle ticket and picture with Santa.

The Fernley Christmas Parade begins at 4 p.m. at West Street on Main and turns onto Silver Lace Blvd to stop at City Hall.

The evening ends at City Hall. The City of Fernley Christmas Tree Lighting is at 5 p.m. in front of City Hall with the Fernley High School Choir. Inside City Hall, take a picture with Mr. & Mrs. Claus and stop by and have Cocoa with a Cop.
